SIFC Helps Revive A Factory After 7 Months
Hunan Resources SMC (Private) Limited has resumed operations at its industrial facility in Dhabeji, Sindh, after a seven month closure following intervention by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
In a letter dated September 15 addressed to the SIFC, the company said its factory had remained closed since February 2026, causing substantial financial losses and affecting its investment, operations and business commitments.
The company did not disclose the nature of the issue that led to the closure. It said the matter remained unresolved for a considerable period despite its efforts to address it.
Hunan Resources thanked the SIFC for its intervention and coordination in resolving the issue concerning its industrial facility.
The company said the SIFC’s support had helped protect its investment and strengthened its confidence in continuing business and investment activities in Pakistan.
SIFC said the reopening demonstrated the impact of coordinated investment facilitation in addressing investor concerns and supporting industrial operations.
The council said it continues to work with investors through a whole-of-government approach, focusing on legitimate business concerns, investor confidence and a more conducive environment for investment and industrial activity.
