SBP Reserves Now Cover 3.5 Months of Imports

Pakistan's foreign exchange reserves witnessed an increase during the week ended September 18, 2026.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), its foreign exchange reserves rose by $11 million over the week to $21.400 billion, up from $21.389 billion a week earlier.
The country's total liquid foreign reserves stood at $26.811 billion as of September 18, up by $19 million.
This includes $21.4 billion held by the SBP and $5.41 billion maintained by commercial banks.
Reserves with commercial banks are up by $8 million compared to a week earlier.
The current dollar reserves count offers can cover imports for 3.5 months.
