Karachi Evacuee Trust Property Worth Rs. 2 Billion Reclaimed by FIA
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Corruption Circle Karachi has reclaimed Evacuee Trust property worth Rs. 2 billion in Bhim Pura, Nishtar Road.
During the operation, FIA officials sealed 160 shops and seven warehouses located on Evacuee Trust Property No. LR-2/1/2. The property was subsequently handed over to the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB).
According to the FIA spokesperson, tenants occupying the property had accumulated outstanding dues of around Rs. 100 million.
The spokesperson said the operation was conducted to clear illegal occupation of Evacuee Trust property and protect government assets.
The FIA said operations to safeguard government and Evacuee Trust properties are continuing in Karachi.
The spokesperson added that the agency and relevant authorities are taking action against illegal occupants as part of ongoing efforts to recover state-owned properties.
Previously, the FIA had also reclaimed Evacuee Trust property worth more than Rs. 60 million in Karachi’s Jodia Bazaar.
