Federal Government Increases Diyat Value to Rs19.35 Million for FY2026-27

Add as a preferredSource on Google The federal government has increased the value of Diyat for the financial year 2026-27 by nearly 97 percent, raising it to Rs19.352 million from Rs9.829 million last year due to a significant increase in the market price of silver.

The Finance Division, through an official notification, fixed the new Diyat amount at Rs19,352,390 under sub-section (2) of Section 323 of the Pakistan Penal Code (Act XLV of 1860).

The revised amount reflects an increase of Rs9,523,720, or approximately 96.9 percent, compared with the Diyat value of Rs9,828,670 announced for the previous financial year.

According to the notification, the new amount is equivalent to the value of 30,630 grams of silver, which serves as the statutory benchmark for calculating Diyat under sub-section (1) of Section 323 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The Finance Division stated that the revised Diyat value will remain applicable throughout the financial year 2026-27 for matters covered under Section 323 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
